The Max-Weber-Institute of Sociology at Heidelberg University is one of the most renowned sociol-ogy departments in Germany, with a focus on institutional analysis, comparative-historical sociology and quantitative approaches to the study of society.

The Max-Weber-Institute for Sociology seeks to recruit a lecturer for sociology (post-doc).

The position offers the option for a “habilitation”.

The Post-Doc will contribute to research and teaching (2 courses per term), and complement existing clusters of activity in the Institute and the Faculty, including, but not limited to the fields of civil soci-ety, global studies and quantitative research methods/indicators. Applicants should have some experi-ence - and show potential for - teaching at undergraduate and master levels.  A PhD in Sociology or a related discipline is required.
Fluency in English and international experiences is a plus, as are publica-tions in peer-reviewed journals.

Salary is commensurable with experience and qualification (TVL-E-13, with employer benefits).

The starting date is 1 October 2015.
