The Institute of Social Sciences (ISS) invites applications for a position of Postdoctoral fellow in Life Course Sociology and Demography
Starting date: 01.09.2016
Duration of contract: 1 year, renewable contract for 2 x 2 years, with a maximum duration of 5 years.
Employment rate: 100%
Workplace: Lausanne Mouline, Géopolis
Gross annual wage: CHF 80’000.-(first year) increasing
Annually to reach CHF 89’600.-5th year
Duties (percentage of the working time by task):
50%: Personal research (e.g. publications to increase the valorization of the dissertation, publications, contributions to conferences, projects development, etc.).
25%: Teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.
20%: Research activities within the UNIL research unit LINES or NCCR LIVES, specifically Lone parent project and Family diversity project of the National Centre of Research LIVES (www.livesnccr.
ch). Applicants whose personal research has synergies with the institutional projects have an additional advantage.
5%: Participating to the activities of the Institute or Faculty.
What we look for:
• PhD in Demography, Sociology or Social Sciences • Fluency in English and French (or commitment to learn
intensively)
• Experience in teaching and academic research in Demography and Family Sociology or Migration, as well as quantitative analysis of longitudinal data • An experience in the qualitative analysis is an asset
